Canada, O Canada

We have now the revealing, and distressing picture of our Neighbor to the North trying to indict President Bush for war crimes while he makes the first visit in over a decade of a sitting president to Canada.

Well of course. Remember how we indicted FDR for war crimes after he declared war on Germany? Why, we had not been attacked by the Germans. The Japanese attacked us, primarily because we had not shown proper respect toward their ancient culture, as I recall. Get a grip!

Look, an entire side of my mother’s family was born Canadian, including her. One of my daughters graduated from McGill University in Montreal. I have had nothing but good experiences in any interactions with Canada. But I am getting fed up.

They’re ticked off because we didn’t swallow the Kyoto protocols hook, line and sinker; because we behave as if the USA is a superpower; because we say what we mean and mean what we say. And because we don’t seem to pay attention to them.

Of course we don’t pay attention to them! Why should we? Canada is a huge country with few people, and their actions in the world make the country look even smaller. That’s reality, neighbor. And here’s another reality --- you piss enough of us off, and your going to see what it’s like if we return the favor.

So be proud of your nation, but Tread on Me at your own risk.
